Commanding a fleet of Hybrid-Irish Long-galleys, O'Malley carved out a legacy over the course of her life as a woman fierce in combat but equally as shrewd in diplomacy. She is best known for sailing to England to personally petition Queen Elizabeth I for the release of her youngest son as well as forging the terms of alliance between her house and the Queen of England.
