Launched in 1858, at 692 feet in length, the steamship "Great Eastern" would be Brunel's final feat of engineering. Originally imagined as a passenger liner between England and Australia via the Raj, she would never see such service. After several ill gotten runs to and from America, the ship would be converted to a cable laying ship. She would successfully lay the first Tans-Atlantic telegraph cable in 1866, thereafter being converted into a floating music hall and advertisement board. With the sudden surge of fiends from the abyss, roving the seas, the aged ship has been requisitioned by the Admiralty, re-armoring the ship's structure and adding a massive battery of guns and boarding equipment to the leviathan sized vessel. Now, Brunel's "Great Babe" heads to sea, serving as England's floating fortress against the Cursed and Fiends of the deep.
