When El Fantasma offered to "borrow" the ship rather than destroy her, Ladron had no choice but to accede. El Fantasma used her to sneak into and sack the Spanish port of Cuba. True to his word, the apparition returned Ladron's ship with a handshake. Ladron now believes in ghosts ... and his right hand is still numb.
