This small galley, sailing under the Spanish flag regularly sails between Spain's African colonies and her home port of Barcelona. The "Golden River" is a humble tradeship, armed with a small battery of long range cannons, her single mast braced with brass sheathing that is carefully polished by the crew to shine brightly as if gold. The captain, and the merchants that sail on her, do worry that all the shine may attract the eye of local corsairs and so she retains a small compliment of guards hidden amongst the rowers.
